Yes, a UK visa expands the small list of countries Nigerian passport holders can see in addition to these other places we can visit either visa-free or with a visa on arrival.
This post will list these additional countries, including references to their official immigration sites. As travel requirements are constantly changing, I implore you to do your research, especially before your travel dates, to ensure you have the latest travel requirements.

The Summary: Countries to Visit with a UK Visa on a Nigerian Passport
This article focuses on travellers with valid UK tourist visas. Other visa types may be used as well, however, I recommend that you confirm the entry requirements for yourself. Also, remember that some countries will require you to have a multiple-entry visa and you must have utilised this visa first in the UK.

There’s been some feedback about Nigerian passport holders being denied boarding and entry into Egypt and Mexico using their BRP cards and tourist visas. I recently traveled to Mexico about a week ago, and I was able to do so without a visa because I hold a UK visa. The migration process at the airport went smoothly, and I had no issues at all. However, I heard a situation where another passenger was denied boarding. This person had mistakenly booked a flight to New Mexico, believing it was a destination in Mexico itself. It’s essential for travelers to be cautious and ensure they are booking the correct location. New Mexico is actually a state in the United States, which can be easily confused with Mexico. Always double-check your travel details to avoid any misunderstandings or complications during your journey!

Hi, a few people have mentioned that this is not possible and some have had issues with boarding. It is best to call the airline to be sure. It seems only those with tourist visas are allowed to get the visa on arrival.

Hello Aisha, yes, you can travel from Nigeria to these countries, as long as you have a valid visa. Some countries require that you must have used the visa to enter the UK first, so be sure to recheck the requirements before booking your flights.

Hi Nkay, I’m not too sure about travelling to Dubai at the moment. The restrictions might still be in place for Nigerians, regardless of where they travel from. It might be better to contact the airline directly to inquire about this.

The article states that you can visit with a tourist visa. I’ve also left links to verify the information by yourself. You can use them to check if you can visit with a UK BRP and also call the airline or immigration office to verify.
Yes. You can go to Tbilisi. But don’t tell them you are coming for anything other than tourism🙏🏾. Even if you are coming to resume at a university with fully paid fees they will put you on the next plane. Be prepared for their mini harassment. You will be sent to an office from the immigration counter for querying. Get your return ticket and travel insurance handy

Just to add for the community, I and a group of friends went to Morocco from the UK last week of March. Applied for e-visa about £62, uploaded BRP and Passport. That’s all.
Applied around 8am and visa was out by the close of the day.
Caveat on the visa was: Proof of Insurance, return ticket, proof of accommodation and funds, I think about €70 per day.
We had all these and printed copy of e-visa at hand for checks at point of entry.

NB: for UK residents, you can only change England Pound in Morocco, not Scottish,Wales or NI. You can also get Dirham from the ATM with your card, good rates.
