I am stepping out of my food comfort zone a bit and trying out more local cuisine in India. I am trying everything from street food to vegetarian foods in restaurants.
So far, I’ve tried (and liked) these dishes;
Pani Puri, a popular street snack which consists of a round, hollow puri, fried crisp filled with a mixture of flavored water (pani), tamarind chutney, chili, chaat masala, potato, onion and chickpeas.
Corn Chaat: a mix of sweet corn, lime and some spices.
Paneer Ka Baap Sizzler: The Creme Centre site describes this meal as “A sinful combination, all on one sizzler: original paneer tikka, lal mirch tikka, kali mirch tikka, hariyali paneer tikka & tandoori salad, served on a bed of steamed rice drizzled with an aromatic cashew-onion sauce on one side & our classic black pepper sauce on the other. Accompanied with kachumber, freshly steamed & grilled vegetables, peas, sautΓ©ed onions, grilled tomato, spinach & potato chips. Served with mint chutney.”
These two don’t really count as local foods but I’m including them in the list anyway. I have had more cheese in the last two days than I have ever had in my entire life.
