Getting In and Around Kenya

Getting into Kenya

The fastest way to get to Kenya from Nigeria is via a direct flight on Kenya Airways. It takes about 5 hours to fly directly. Other airlines, such as Ethiopian Airlines and RwandAir also operate flights to Kenya.

Getting a visa to Kenya

Kenya is visa-free for Nigerians seeking to visit for tourism. For nationalities requiring an ETA, you may apply for a visa through this site. The ETA costs $30, excluding the card processing fee.

Best time to visit Kenya

Kenya is an all-year-round travel destination but be aware that it has two seasons - the rainy and dry seasons.

Generally, April and May are the wettest months and the dry seasons (which fall between the months of June to September and December to March, sans climate change) are better for safaris and viewing the great migration.

Getting around in Kenya

Getting around in Kenya is easy. Uber and Bolt operate in the bigger cities and you can easily hop into a vehicle or a "boda boda" (motorcycle) to get to your destinations. You'll also find lots of bodas around the country.

Alternatively, renting a car or jumping in a matatu (public bus) are options available to you.

I left Nigeria in 2020 and returned every year for the next 3 years... it would be another 3 years before I made it back home again and so many things have changed, so many things have remained the same...

I've enjoyed the familiarity, good Nigerian food, our welcoming spirit, seeing my family and friends once again 💙 It's felt soo good to be back...

In 3 years, I've missed friends getting married, having kids, moving away, moving back... my parents getting older, my youngest sibling already grown up...

It's a lot of mixed emotions and I fear it would be harder to leave again. One thing is for sure though, I won't wait another 3 years to come back home.

How beautiful! 🥹🌸🍃

Japan in Sakura Season is absolutely stunning. I still can't believe we got to enjoy it without the overwhelming crowds.

If you're heading there in a few months, DO consider going off the beaten path. It is so so worth it, I promise you!

Here are alternative cities to consider for lighter crowds without missing out on the "Japan travel experience!"

Tokyo >>> Nagoya, Matsumoto, Fukuoka
Kyoto >>> Magome, Narai, Kanazawa, Kibune
Osaka >>> Okayama
Hakone, Fuji : Skip the day trip and stay overnight

Comment "Sakura" and I'll share the link to my Japan Itinerary blog post to help you plan your trip easily!
