When life doesn't give lemons [visas], you get them from the supermarket!

Lol. I don't know what I'm saying but if you're a traveller with a "weak" passport like mine, my no1 advice is not to get too stuck up on visiting a particular place. Broaden your horizons and discover new places!

This was supposed to be a Vietnam trip but I never got the visa and so I decided to pivot, choosing to revisit Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong instead! And let me tell you, a time was had!

8 seconds of the Nakasendo Trail 🇯🇵

This trail is perfect for beginners. It takes about 3 hours (one way) to complete and you get to visit two lovely post towns: Magome and Tsumago.

For this hike, we used Magome as our base and I must say, what a stunning small town! I loved everything about it - the gorgeous mountain views, the cobbled-stone streets of Magome-Juku, all the cute shops and restaurants... in short, this was such a beautiful stop in Japan!

Tsumago was equally beautiful to see. We stopped at this restaurant for lunch with the most friendly owners. In a trip already filled with several highlights, this was yet another one.

If you're considering doing this trail, I say go for it!

An absolutely charming stop during my visit to Matsumoto ☕️

Coffee Abe is a family run coffee house that's been in existence since 1957! I tried the signature mocha cream au lait and cinnamon toast and they were delicious!

I loved that this café was within a short walking distance to my hotel and bus terminal, making it the perfect stop to wrap up my visit to Matsumoto before heading back to Tokyo! I'll definitely come back here if I revisit the city!

I travelled for hours from Geoje to visit Sucheon and am pleased to report that it did not disappoint! 💙✨️

At 4pm, when I visited, the themed gardens were sparsely populated. Coming from Japan, where many beautiful places are often filled with tourists, this was a pleasant surprise! 🌼

I visited in spring and caught the last of cherry blossom petals on the trees but it was really the tulips 🌷 that took the spotlight. I explored various themed gardens and my favourite were the Korean and Netherlands Gardens.

Overall, this place was an absolute delight! I definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area!
