I love safaris – so much! And when they are in the place that inspired the Lion King animated movie, oh joy! In a single year, I went on safari in India, South Africa and Tanzania and no one safari was the same as the other. I guess that’s the thing I love most about them. But I have to say, of all the safaris I’ve been on so far, the one at Serengeti has been the most exceptional. The abundance of wildlife is just spectacular!
The National Park in Tanzania is a UNESCO world heritage site famous for its annual migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebras as well as its large lion population. The name of the park is derived from Maasai language and it translates to “Endless Plains”. The park extends into Kenya where it is known as ‘Maasai Mara’.
We visited with the hopes of catching the migration but we went a little late and missed all that action. We did have an amazing time regardless, here are some pictures from our trip;
